So Sobeys grocery chain teamed up with Jamie Oliver to start a new campaign called "Better Food for All" to get Canadians cooking more and eating healthier. You may remember this commercial:
So who's the last food blogger that you would think they would contact to team up? (Hint: It's me)
They have a new campaign on called "Power Up With Green!" with a specific goal of getting more greens into our diets. They turned to Lord of the Wings to come up with some unique way of doing this with a chicken wing recipe.
I was really intrigued by the idea of making a tasty wing that might elevate my fave to something healthy, or at least, healthier. I had to think for a long time how I was going to do this, but over the next few weeks, I will be rolling out some green wings.
I got as much green as I could that I thought would make sense in my recipes. Even the cashier said "wow you must be really healthy, there's so much green . . . are you a vegetarian?" I laughed and said I had never bought so much vegetables in my life.
Sobeys is picking up the tab on the groceries, so I really appreciate getting the opportunity to work with them, and I guess Jamie Oliver by association. This is going to be an interesting adventure, so keep checking the blog for updates!
